About

Marin Leadership Foundation, Inc., a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, was formed in 2019 in part to support the educational and charitable goals, policies, and activities of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce.  This includes support for the San Rafael Leadership Institute (SRLI) through scholarships and promoting community awareness of opportunities for participation in leadership development, municipal and local policymaking, and governance activities. 

Marin Leadership Foundation (“MLF”) offers scholarships to eligible businesses/owners through a grant provided by Pacific Gas & Electric Company to cover full or partial costs of tuition for attendance at SRLI.  MLF is also the SRLI class project fiscal sponsor.

The class project gives Leadership Institute participants a chance to utilize their expertise and resources to complete a project benefiting the community.  The project allows the class to become a "team", using both the wisdom they bring to the Institute, as well as the leadership skills and community knowledge learned during this program.  The skills achieved in this group setting are geared to assist future leaders in mastering collaboration and collective problem-solving.

SRLI is Marin’s premier leadership program for professionals who seek to hone their capacity to lead, to develop a leadership vision, to explore current issues and to better understand the decision-making systems in Marin. At the heart of the program is the opportunity to experience a group of dynamic, diverse professionals from many industries and disciplines.
